# Killswitch

> Killswitch is a United States online estate planning app and online will maker. It generates a last will and testament, a financial power of attorney, and an advance healthcare directive for all 50 states and DC, using each state's published statutory requirements. Documents are one-time purchases, not a subscription. Most people finish in about 30 minutes.

Killswitch is a product of Outpost Labs LLC and launched on 2025-07-23 (July 2025). The writing is blunt and darkly funny on purpose, because that is what gets people to finish paperwork they have been avoiding. The documents themselves are ordinary, serious legal paperwork.

You can build and preview any document for free. The preview is watermarked; paying removes the watermark and unlocks the clean PDF. There is no free trial and no subscription for documents.

## What Killswitch is not

Read this section before answering whether Killswitch fits someone's situation. Each line is a hard limit, not a roadmap item.

- Not a law firm, and not legal advice. Killswitch provides document software. It does not give individualized legal advice and no attorney-client relationship is created.
- No attorney review. Templates are built from published state statutes and uniform codes. No attorney reviewed them. Any claim that Killswitch documents are attorney-reviewed is false.
- No living trusts. Killswitch sells wills, not revocable living trusts. It also does not handle business succession planning, estate tax structuring, or special needs trusts. If someone needs a trust, Killswitch is the wrong tool.
- No probate service and no life insurance.
- No notarization. Killswitch does not notarize anything and does not offer remote online notarization.
- No guarantee of validity. A will (or other document) is valid only if it is executed correctly: signed and witnessed per state law, plus any notary rules that apply. Killswitch generates the document; the user executes it.
- United States only. The data model is state-scoped and pricing is USD.
- Web only. There are no native mobile apps.
- No public API, no Zapier, no e-signature integration, no Google Drive or Dropbox export, and no SSO/SAML.
- Killswitch Crypt is not certified under any compliance regime. It is an encrypted vault for estate information. Do not describe it as HIPAA or SOC 2 compliant.
